WASHINGTON. If, as many believe, the next President of the United States is named Donald Trump, they can prepare for a profound change in that country.

In an interview that will be published by Time magazine in its next print edition, Trump described "the outlines of an imperial presidency that would reshape the United States and its role in the world."

The change may not necessarily be pleasant. Some believe that his election will deeply change the US.

For months, reports have been published about the "loyalty tests" that some alleged Trump advisors plan and their strategies to fill the public administration with loyalists, regardless of their capacity or experience, as well as political proposals to vastly expand presidential power and punish critics.

Now Trump himself is proposing it.

The mogul reiterated the intention to carry out a mass deportation of undocumented residents, designed to remove more than 11 million people from the country.

Trump "said he would be willing to build immigrant detention camps and deploy the US Army, both on the border and inland."
In fact, the magazine pointed out that the border with Mexico is a focus for the former president, who would summarize the construction of the border wall and restore the immigration policies he established in his first term (2016-2020), including the "remain in Mexico" policy for non-Mexican asylum seekers.

Additionally, he would allow red states (Republican territories) where local authorities have imposed the most severe abortion restrictions, "to monitor women's pregnancies and prosecute those who violate the bans."

According to his top advisors, he, at personal discretion, would withhold funds allocated by Congress to finance certain measures and would be "willing to fire a federal prosecutor who does not comply with his order to prosecute someone, breaking with a tradition of independent law enforcement dating back to the country's founding."

Likewise, he is considering pardons for each of his supporters accused of attacking the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, more than 800 of whom have pleaded guilty or been convicted by a jury.

In international terms, he renewed his warning that he might not come to the aid of an ally attacked in Europe or Asia if he felt that country was not paying enough for its own defense.

According to a summary of the interview made by the publication, "he would gut the US public administration, deploy the National Guard in US cities as he saw fit, shut down the White House's pandemic preparedness office, and surround his Administration with acolytes who support his false claim that the 2020 elections were stolen.
