Mexico's Ambassador to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, welcomed General Brigadier D.E.M. Manuel Ladrón de Guevara Job as Mexico's new military attaché. Moctezuma highlighted the General’s extensive background and experience in fostering international cooperation in security and defense.

"He has previously participated in a program at the prestigious U.S. Military Academy at West Point and has held various responsibilities abroad in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Belize, and Cuba. His contributions will be crucial in strengthening bilateral cooperation in security and defense while respecting our sovereignties", emphasized in his message on X.

General Brigadier D.E.M. Manuel Ladrón de Guevara Job holds a degree in Military Administration from the University of the Army and Air Force. He has served as deputy director of the Heroic Military College and represented Mexico in the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) of the Organization of American States (OAS).

What Is a Military Attaché?

Military attachés are appointed by the President of Mexico based on recommendations from the Ministries of National Defense and Navy, as applicable.

Their role is to assist the Ambassador in matters of defense and security. Additionally, they are responsible for representing the country’s military, promoting and facilitating bilateral military relations, focusing on three key areas:
