Harris is expected to talk about “the strictest bipartisan border security plan in a generation,” which includes hiring new agents and using technology to combat fentanyl trafficking, a drug that has caused a crisis in the U.S.
This plan was blocked by Donald Trump for political reasons.
The Democratic candidate will reference her experience as a former Attorney General of California, where she dealt with criminals involved in drug, weapons, and human trafficking. Her campaign team emphasized that the Vice President seeks an immigration system that is “safe, fair, orderly, and humane,” in contrast to what she considers a divisive policy by Republican Trump.
