Global support for Venezuela grows, both for Chavismo and the Opposition
Machado acknowledged the support for the opposition over its electoral claims, while Maduro accused Edmundo González of being a "criminal" and preparing to flee.

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado hailed the global demonstrations in defense of the victory that the opposition attributes to its candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, as "a fundamental milestone" in the fight against the official results of the presidential election, which declared Nicolás Maduro as the winner.

According to Machado, this day of protests marked "a great victory" for the opposition and demonstrated that Venezuela's freedom is a "global cause." Through her account on X, Machado stated: "We have shown that Venezuela is united as a nation. (...) No distance or time can separate us anymore."
The opposition leader emphasized the significance of the demonstrations that took place in more than 350 cities worldwide, where thousands of Venezuelans demanded recognition of González Urrutia's "victory," the release of political prisoners, and the publication of electoral records.

Meanwhile, Nicolás Maduro's government also called on its supporters to celebrate what they consider their victory in the July 28 elections. The Chavista leader claimed that more than a hundred pro-government rallies were held both in Venezuela and abroad.

Tensions escalated further as, 21 days after the presidential election, the National Electoral Council (CNE) has not released detailed results or electoral records.
In the meantime, the opposition coalition published 83.5% of these documents on a website, insisting that they prove González Urrutia's victory. These records have been validated by several countries and international organizations, including UN experts.
