“The strength of the United States has always come from the fact that we are a nation of immigrants,” recently stated Kamala Harris, the Republican candidate for the U.S. presidency, in an interview with Telemundo.

Harris shared with the 33,000 followers of her WhatsApp channel Latinos with Harris-Walz a clip from the interview, in which she emphasized that it’s time to implement smart and humane immigration policies. These policies would include a path to citizenship and additional resources for border security.

As president, she said, she will create a system that provides security, a pathway to citizenship, and treats people with dignity, not fear.

Latino voters understand that they want a U.S. president who treats them with dignity and respect and invests in their dreams and those of their families.

This election and the way Latinos vote can help pave the way toward a solution on immigration; this is why the Latino vote is so important, she concludes.

Agenda of Opportunities for Latino Men

As part of her proposal for an opportunity economy, Harris has recently emphasized her support for Latino men to not only survive but thrive.

She has promised forgivable loans of up to $20,000 for Latino entrepreneurs who have a good idea but lack the capital or connections to start their own business.

As part of this agenda, she has also committed to promoting additional opportunities for economic success and well-being for Latino men through new training opportunities, eliminating unnecessary degree requirements, and allowing construction workers and registered apprentices to deduct expenses for tools and equipment.
