After the interview was broadcast on the social media platform X, Joseph Costello, a spokesperson for Harris' campaign, highlighted that "Trump's entire campaign serves people like Elon Musk and himself: self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and can't even manage a live broadcast in 2024."
This remark refers to technical difficulties and an alleged hacking incident that disrupted the live stream of the conversation between Trump and Musk, during which they discussed illegal immigration and the poor performance of Democratic President Joe Biden.
In addition to these criticisms, Harris' campaign reported being targeted by a cyberattack from foreign hackers.
A member of her team revealed that the FBI informed their legal and security teams about an attempted interference by a foreign actor last July.
