Claudia Sheinbaum details actions for her first 100 days as president of Mexico

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the presumptive president, announced on Tuesday that she has already prepared an agenda for her first 100 days in office, pending her official constitutional recognition as the head of state.

Sheinbaum emphasized that health, welfare programs, housing, and support for the elderly would be top priorities at the beginning of her administration. "There is an agenda for the entire end of the year and the start of 2025, including the expenditure budget," she stated.

Sheinbaum mentioned discussions with Rogelio Ramírez de la O, the Treasury Secretary, regarding the budget plan. Additionally, she shared that her national tour following her electoral victory is nearing its end. Her subsequent visits with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will be to Chiapas, Tabasco, and Veracruz. However, no specific agenda has been set for these states.

Commitment to Ayotzinapa Case

In a press conference, Sheinbaum addressed her meeting with the parents of the missing Ayotzinapa students, held on Monday. She assured that the case would not be closed and that the truth and the location of the disappeared students would be pursued, fulfilling the parents' demands.

She informed the families that the information shared during the meeting is public, based on reports from Deputy Secretary Alejandro Encinas, President López Obrador, and the legal representatives of the victims.

She also noted that over nearly a decade since the incident, arrests have been made of officials, police officers, military personnel, and criminals involved in the case.
