Happy to See the Reaction of Mexicans

Cleland arrived at the Olympics as an unknown, but after his performances in Tahiti, the Colima native knows he has captured the attention of the entire Mexican public. Alan is aware that he captivated everyone and is excited to be one of the first Mexicans in the Olympics in the surfing category for Mexico.

"It's an incredible feeling to see how surfing has captured the attention of the whole country. I am very happy to be one of the first Mexican surfers in the Olympics and to open doors for future generations," said Cleland.

Before ending the interview, he encouraged more young Mexicans to dive into the water and let the waves captivate them so that more representatives can participate in future Olympic Games. He knows there is a lot of talent in Mexico and hopes that more opportunities will open up for future representatives.
