Claudia Sheinbaum appoints 11 members to her extended cabinet
The president-elect announced the heads of the National Water Commission, National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports, Infonavit, Channel 11, and Channel 22.
Mexico’s president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, has named 11 key individuals who will join her administration in crucial roles across the environmental, social, economic, and communications sectors.

Mariana Boy Tamborrell will lead the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) in the environmental sector. She holds a degree in Law and a Master’s in Public Administration and is currently serving as the Environmental and Land Use Attorney in Mexico City.
Efraín Morales will take charge of the General Directorate of the National Water Commission (Conagua). A Law graduate from the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM), he previously served as Undersecretary of Urban Services in Mexico City.
In the sports realm, Rommel Pacheco Marrufo will head the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Conade). A graduate in Business Administration from Anáhuac University, he currently serves as a federal deputy representing Yucatán's District III in the LXV Legislature.

In the social sector, Rocío Bárcena will serve as the next Undersecretary for Democratic Development, Social Participation, and Religious Affairs within the Ministry of the Interior. With a degree in Preschool Education and a Master's in Philosophy and Pedagogy, she has led the Mexican Postal Service since 2021, overseeing significant modernization and digitalization efforts.

Octavio Romero Oropeza will be the Director General of the National Workers' Housing Fund Institute (Infonavit). As an Agronomist from the Tropical Agriculture Higher College, he served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Mexico City Government.
Iván Escalante has been named head of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco). A Law graduate with certifications in public security, he has supported Claudia Sheinbaum’s communications strategy.
Violeta Abreu González will lead the Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex). She has a Communication Sciences degree and a Master’s in Public Policy and Management. At Fonatur, she was Director of Strategic Management and Institutional Liaison.
In the economic sector, Rocío Mejía will continue as Director General of Financiera para el Bienestar (Finabien), a position she has held since September 2020. President López Obrador tasked her with modernizing the Telecomm-Telegraphs telecommunications system. She holds a degree in Economics from Anáhuac University and a Master's in Economics.
Lyndia Quiroz Zavala will remain Director General of the National Fund for Tourism Development (Fonatur), a role she has held since September 2023. She is a Tourism Business Administrator from the University of Mayab, and one of her key achievements includes donating 17,164 hectares to the National Commission of Protected Areas.
Finally, in the communications sector, Renata Turrent will be the new Director General of Channel 11. She holds an economics degree and is a political analyst and communication expert with a Master's in Public Policy from UCLA. She previously coordinated Liaison with Dialogues for Transformation.
Alonso Millán Zepeda will assume the position of Director General of Channel 22 starting October 1. He holds a degree in Economics from UNAM and a Master's in Sciences. Since April 2021, he has served as Director General of the public media outlet Capital 21, where he increased the average audience to 8.4 million people annually.
