Based on the National Survey on Financial Health, “of the 23 percent who save in Mexico, only 3 percent invest,” whether through fixed-term deposits, buying real estate that generates a form of return, starting a business, or using it as working capital, explained the official during the BIVA Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy 2024.
Meanwhile, Carina Villanueva, Director of Gender, Inclusion, and Financial Education at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), said that financial education in the stock market sector, such as that promoted by the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA), is essential to attract more participants to the ecosystem.
For his part, Jesús de la Fuente Rodríguez, president of the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), pointed out that, given the existence of frauds committed by unauthorized individuals and entities using technology for financial activities, cybersecurity has become even more relevant.
