While Mexico had 34 companies operating with AI in 2018, this number has nearly multiplied tenfold, reaching a 362 percent increase this year, stated Carol Martínez Catalán, Coordinator of the Data Area at Endeavor Mexico.
“This shows how Mexico is positioning itself as a leader in technology development,” she said during a press conference to present the study The Age of AI in Mexico: Overview, Trends, and Data 2024.
She noted that although Brazil leads in the number of AI companies this year with 728 firms—a 487 percent increase compared to 2018, when it had 124 companies using AI—Mexico's growth is particularly noteworthy.
The development of these companies is most prominent in Mexico City, Jalisco, and Nuevo León, where a combination of local talent and infrastructure has been successfully achieved.
