He announced that he would inaugurate Jaguar Park and reopen the Museum of Maya Culture

“We will be traveling from Cancún to Chetumal, stopping just before Chetumal at the Bacalar station. This weekend, we will inaugurate the Jaguar Park in Tulum, traveling on the Maya Train from Cancún to Tulum. We might stop by Playa del Carmen beforehand to deliver deeds for the Colosio neighborhood. This has been a long-standing issue where residents have lived in their homes without deeds due to a legal problem that has now been resolved,” López Obrador stated.
The president will also visit Felipe Carrillo Puerto on Monday, where he will reinaugurate the Museum of Maya Culture and open a new archaeological zone located across from Bacalar.

“We will be in Felipe Carrillo Puerto to reinaugurate the Museum of Maya Culture, which focuses on the resistance of the Maya people and the Caste War. We will also end our visit at Laguna de Bacalar, where we will open a new archaeological site, which I’ve heard is stunning,” he said.

López Obrador highlighted that this tour will include the final stretch of the Maya Train, which extends from Cancún to Tulum. He emphasized the significant effort and cost involved in constructing this segment, which spans approximately 120 kilometers, with 80 kilometers elevated to avoid disrupting local flora, fauna, caves, and underground rivers.

“This section was very challenging to build in every sense. It required constructing an 80-kilometer viaduct to protect the environment, including cenotes and caves. It’s a massive project, larger than the elevated sections in the city,” he added.
