Mexico’s Security Cabinet Reports Relevant Actions on Monday, March 10, 2025
In coordinated efforts by the Security Cabinet, arrests, raids, and the seizure of firearms and various drugs occurred in Baja California, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Durango, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Puebla, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas, and Oaxaca

The Security Cabinet reports these significant events from Monday, March 10, 2025, as part of the National Security Strategy, which rests on four pillars: addressing root causes, consolidating the National Guard, strengthening intelligence and investigation, and coordinating with state governments.
Baja California
- In Mexicali, Tecate, and Tijuana, personnel from the Mexican Army and National Guard arrested four individuals, including two U.S. nationals, and seized one short firearm, magazines, 404 rounds of ammunition, various amounts of methamphetamine, two kilograms of marijuana, two vehicles, and a motorcycle.
- In Tijuana, National Guard personnel seized two long guns, two handguns, ten magazines, and 237 rounds of ammunition during surveillance patrols.
Mexico City
- In Gustavo A. Madero, the Mexican Army, National Guard, and the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) raided three properties, arresting four individuals and seizing various doses of drugs.

Jalisco
- In Teocaltiche, the Mexican Army, National Guard, and state police located an abandoned vehicle and seized a long gun, magazines, two ballistic plates, 139 rounds of ammunition, and tactical gear.
- In Zapopan and Guadalajara, the Mexican Army, National Guard, and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) conducted raids on two properties, seizing eight long guns, 13 handguns, magazines, 1,150 rounds of ammunition, two vehicles, and two motorcycles.
Morelos
- In Cuernavaca, Semar, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and state police conducted a raid on a property and arrested a suspect connected to a criminal group from Michoacán that is involved in drug trafficking and sales in Cuernavaca and nearby municipalities. Authorities confiscated two long guns, a vehicle, and several doses of drugs.
Nayarit
- In Ixtlán del Río, the Mexican Army, National Guard, and FGR raided a property, arresting a man linked to a criminal group from Jalisco. They seized one long gun, one short firearm, 396 rounds of ammunition, magazines, and 1,500 fentanyl pills.
- The estimated value of the seized narcotics is 608,766 pesos.
- In Santiago Ixcuintla, Semar personnel seized two rifles, 1,407 rounds of ammunition, 36 magazines, and tactical gear from a vehicle.

Nuevo León
- In Galeana and Apodaca, the Mexican Army, National Guard, and state police arrested two men, seizing magazines, 204 rounds of ammunition, various drug doses, a semi-truck, and two armored vehicles.
Puebla
In several municipalities, Semar and local police carried out intelligence-led operations:
- In San Pedro Cholula, four people were arrested, and authorities confiscated one kilogram of marijuana, two kilograms of methamphetamine, and a vehicle.
- In Tecomatlán, one person was arrested, and authorities seized a handgun, a magazine, and six rounds of ammunition.
Sinaloa
- In Concordia, the Mexican Army, National Guard, Semar, FGR, the State Attorney General’s Office, and state police seized one rifle, 13 magazines, 363 rounds of ammunition, a tactical vest, an armored vehicle, and a stolen motorcycle.
- In Culiacán, Concordia, and Salvador Alvarado, Mexican Army personnel seized one rifle, six ballistic plates, magazines, 370 rounds of ammunition, various drug doses, tactical gear, and two vehicles.
- In El Dorado, personnel from the Mexican Army and the FGR raided a property, seizing two long guns, various drug doses, and two vehicles.
- In Elota, Semar personnel seized two bundles of marijuana, two long guns, 286 rounds of ammunition, seven magazines, and tactical gear.
- In Navolato, specifically in Las Aguamitas, personnel from the Mexican Army seized two long guns, two handguns, magazines, 630 rounds of ammunition, eight kilograms of powdered fentanyl, 266,046 fentanyl pills, 18 kilograms of methamphetamine, and tactical gear.
- In Topolobampo, in El Carrizo, personnel from Semar, FGR, and the National Guard shut down an airstrip lacking a valid flight permit from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). Six small planes were discovered at the site.

Sonora
- In Tubutama, the Mexican Army, National Guard, FGR, and state police raided a property, seizing one long gun, magazines, ammunition rounds, and tactical gear.
- In Sonoyta, personnel from the Mexican Army inspected a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two U.S. nationals and the seizure of two handguns, magazines, ammunition, and a vehicle.
Tamaulipas
- In Río Bravo, Mexican Army personnel seized a Barrett rifle, nine long guns, magazines, 5,040 rounds of ammunition, and three armored vehicles.
- In Matamoros, authorities seized five long guns, magazines, 1,855 rounds of ammunition, 200 kilograms of marijuana, and tactical gear.
Operations against drug production and trafficking
- In Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Guerrero, and Oaxaca, personnel from the Mexican Army and Air Force conducted aerial and ground reconnaissance, leading to the identification and destruction of 223 poppy plantations spanning 26 hectares and 101 marijuana plantations covering seven hectares.
- In Culiacán and Cosalá, Sinaloa, authorities dismantled 13 sites utilized for methamphetamine production, seizing 6,050 liters and 300 kilograms of drug precursors, along with three organic synthesis reactors and four condensers.
- In Culiacán, Corral Viejo, Semar personnel utilized intelligence data to neutralize a clandestine drug lab meant for synthetic drug production, seizing 350 liters of chemical precursors, a 1,000-liter reactor, four 500-liter distillers, and other equipment.
Strategy to combat fuel theft
- To combat fuel theft, members of the Mexican Army found three illegal taps: two in Guanajuato and one in Hidalgo.
- In Atotonilco de Tula, Hidalgo, personnel from the Mexican Army, National Guard, FGR, and PEMEX seized three storage containers, 235 meters of high-pressure hose, a property, and recovered 12,350 liters of stolen fuel.
