Mexicans want peace for Ukraine

A survey conducted by QM Estudios de Opinión in partnership with Heraldo Media Group revealed that 48% of respondents believe that the Ukrainian president is seeking peace for his nation, but 73% think Trump is not

A QM Estudios de Opinión poll, in collaboration with Heraldo Media Group, asked Mexicans about their impressions of the peace negotiations being brokered by the United States between Russia and Ukraine as the war enters its fourth year.

On Friday, February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, and his Vice President, J.D. Vance, at the White House to discuss peace in Ukraine. The meeting resulted in a public dispute that was broadcast worldwide.

57% of respondents said they were aware of the meeting, 42% said they were not, and 1% did not respond. Among the 800 surveyed, 48% believe President Zelensky is genuinely seeking peace, 35% disagree, and 17% are uncertain or did not respond.

Positions on the crisis

  1. Zelensky stated that his confrontation with Donald Trump was “regrettable.”
  2. The U.S. president said that talks with Russia are “going well.”
