“We take the issue of missing persons in its correct dimension, attention to the victims, strengthening the laws. We want the truth to come out on the issue of Jalisco, and of this property in particular, without hiding anything, and to clarify who is responsible,” she explained.

The President recalled that yesterday, the Federal Attorney General’s Office explained the conditions under which it is receiving the investigation. Furthermore, today the media will enter the site and from that point on, an exhaustive investigation will begin into what occurred.

Sheinbaum reiterated that what corresponds to the Mexican Government is to provide attention to the issue of missing persons, to tell the truth about the scope of the problem, where this information comes from, and all the modifications necessary to the laws. In addition, when the time comes, the government it will respond to the campaigns against it, particularly on issues such as the case in Jalisco.

“It is a responsibility of the President and of this morning press conference to tell the truth but we also have the right to reply because it cannot be the case that there is a campaign against our government and that we do not respond (...) I have no doubt that we are doing what is right and that’s what gives us peace of mind. Of course we are attending to everything and we are on top of everything,” she asserted.
