Authorities have seized 23,940.399 kg of drugs, including 129.24 kg of fentanyl

The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports the results of Operation Northern Border on March 26, 2025

Since the operation began on February 5, authorities have carried out the following arrests and seizures:

  • 1,854 individuals arrested
  • 1,708 firearms seized
  • 256,068 rounds of various calibers
  • 8,661 magazines
  • 23,940.399 kg of drugs, including 129.24 kg of fentanyl
  • 1,508 vehicles confiscated
  • 221 properties secured

All actions have been conducted strictly to the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. The most significant arrests and seizures include:

Baja California

• Eight individuals were arrested, three of whom are U.S. nationals.

• Seized: 167 rounds of ammunition, one handgun, one magazine, 182 doses of methamphetamine, 34 doses of marijuana, two doses of heroin, cash, and two vehicles.

• In Ensenada, seven irregularly installed video cameras were located and removed from public spaces.

Chihuahua

• In Uruachi, eight individuals were arrested; seizures included 25 long guns, two handguns, 204 magazines, ammunition, 30 improvised explosive devices, 27 tactical vests, 15 ballistic plates, six vehicles, and one motorcycle.

• In Ciudad Juárez, nine individuals were arrested; authorities seized 1,169 rounds of ammunition, one firearm, 12 magazines, four vehicles, doses of marijuana and cocaine, as well as 12 properties.

Nuevo León

• In Linares, four individuals were arrested.

• Seized: two long guns, six magazines, 86 rounds of ammunition, 79 doses of methamphetamine, and one property.

Sinaloa

• Authorities dismantled 12 sites used for methamphetamine production.

• Seized: 6,780 liters and 400 kilograms of chemical substances, two organic synthesis reactors, three condensers, and one distiller.

• Estimated financial impact on criminal organizations: 159 million pesos.

• In San Ignacio, one individual was arrested; seizures included 50 explosive initiators, one million pesos, one vehicle, 129 rounds of various calibers, two marijuana plantations weighing approximately 52,511.5 kg, and a clandestine airstrip.

Sonora

• Five individuals arrested.

• Seized: two long guns, four magazines, 134 rounds of ammunition, 591 doses of methamphetamine, 222 doses of marijuana, 53 doses of cocaine, one scale, and two properties.

• In Caborca, authorities confiscated three long guns, three magazines, 58 rounds of ammunition, and 24 improvised explosive devices.

Tamaulipas

• Seized: three vehicles, including one with factory-installed armor, nine dry van trailers, and one property.
